Intent
Whether it be infrastructure, policing and military, voting, or any other “product” of government origins, the typical justification for the grounds of their existence is for the common good and well-being of society. Many of us have often heard statements that echo the following:
“We need roads to travel on and schools to send our children to!”
“We need to support and fund our military and police so that we are safe from terrorists and criminals!”
“We need to vote so are voices are heard and the right people are elected!”
If the system is just, it should be noted that the intent and purpose behind those claims is good. Those who say these things say them because they themselves want those things and want them for fellow man. Who would not want highways and schools, some sort of protection for yourself and your family, and the means to voice your opinion and induce change? Again, it is important to state that if those systems and agencies operate on a basis of justice and truth, that is a formula for a prosperous community.
Reality
Unfortunately, most people would agree that the state of these “products” and “services” is and has been sub-par for a long time. Roads and public schools (especially in large metropolitan cities) are in poor conditions and teach to the test, military and police claim to protect us from terrorists and thieves yet they themselves are those things, and no matter how hard we vote, we always seem to get to choose between a punch in the face or a kick in the crotch.
Worse than the quality of these “products” is the mechanism of enforcement of them.
If one believes the police or military are using their positions for malice, there is no way for an individual to FREELY choose whether to fund the police or military. If your child’s public school is not adequately helping your child grow, you can homeschool, but your tax dollars continue to fund that school. If you choose not to vote because the options Red Elephant and Blue Donkey have a history of corruption, do not fulfill their promises, and you do not see it moral to elect a ruler for 350 million other people who you have not met, you cannot completely divorce yourself from that government. You have no choice but to be subject to the laws and decrees that the Biden, Trump, Bush, or Clinton administration implements. Should you choose to stop funding these groups EVEN when they behave immorally, you will be arrested and jailed for not paying taxes.
Simply put: If you do not support bad behavior, you are a bad person and will be punished.
A question is then posed: Are these products and services actually and truly for the common good? Or are they ways for those in power to remain in power?
Solution
Violently coercing someone into doing, supporting, or paying for something is NEVER justified. Even if it is claimed to be for the “common good”. No individual has the authority to tell another what to do. This is why slavery was abolished (although it unfortunately persists in the world). Unless there is a voluntary, consensual agreement between the parties, authority over another being is immoral.
For those that still believe in the immorality of government, continue to be a slave, vote, and pay your taxes to your heart’s content.
For those that recognize this immoral behavior, take action to reduce your dependency on these systems. Sitting and waiting for a savior (government, Jesus, Mohammed, Santa Claus) to fix everything will do NOTHING. Some examples of ways to be proactive in this sense: homeschool, network with like minded individuals with whom you can trade skills, pay under the table, pay with something other than money, and lead by example. This is by no means easy work nor will anyone become totally independent overnight. It will require tons of research and application of the resulting knowledge that stems from a true desire for sovereignty.
Everyone has a RIGHT to freedom, but we live under the conditions of slavery. Therefore, it is only MORAL to fight and stand up against all forms of enforced slavery so freedom can return, for those that really want it.
Good first entry!
